Greetings from the Organizer

Dear Sirs,

On behalf of the sponsors of X III International Conference on Intergranular and Interphase Boundaries in Materials (iib 2010), I take pleasure in expressing my cordial welcome and appreciation to all the participants in this conference.

This conference has been held every three years, and serving as the venue for the specialists and researchers in different areas of interface science to discuss and exchange their views and ideas with others. iib 2010 will be focused on the atomic-scale characterization and properties of interfaces, including atomic level modeling, microscopy, spectroscopy, thermodynamics, mechanical, electrical and magnetic properties.  For the purpose of aiming at productive and positive outcomes of this conference, we have arranged the best available venue for the conference sessions.

Shima Kanko Hotel is one of Japan’s most prestigious resort hotels, overlooking the spectacular Ago Bay, world-famous for the splendid view of the beautiful sea with rafts for pearl cultivation, which was invented and started by renowned Pearl-King, Kokichi, Mikimoto back in 1893, and will be providing all the delegates with ideal session rooms and accommodations.

Best regards,

Yuichi Ikuhara
Professor of Tokyo University
